UK Knife laws?

I am in UK for a while and have collected few folders and fixed blades from local resale. I am aware that carrying a fixed blade or locking blade is not legal in UK.
However, while going back home at the end of my assignment, can I carry these blades with me back home over a flight? I am hoping that should not be an issue as long as the knives r in a locked case.

I would check with the airlines as to their policies in checked lungage cause there might be the possibility of u having to have to mail them
