Anyone else begin reading up on this? I'm quite worried about it. I'll look for the direct links to the possible legislation.

The lady that has taken it upon herself to get combat knives and swords banned is doing so because her son was stabbed and killed with what sounds like a tanto. I understand her grief, but once again someone is blaming the implement, when the problem is the person that was wielding it.

However, this is the UK we are talking about, and she will likely succeed in what she is trying to do.

This is truly a sad and scarey time for civil rights and liberities. What happen to the time when the crime was punished and not the instrument with which the act was done with. Its like a person bashing another with a hammer (a very common tool throughout the world that can be an improvisied weapon very quickly). We don't see a mass cry for the banning of hammers. Why, that is because its vitiale to the suscess of the species as a whole for tools. Which comes down to the fact that without the knife, man would probly not be alive at this point in time. The sad part is most people dont realize this truthful fact. What ever happened to the doctrine that Government is best which governs least? Maybe V of Vendetta isn't so far off, and all that stands in its way is for good people to do nothing  (which is happening all the time unfortuntaly). Maybe future man (even the UK) will have to revert to a sharp rock or piece of flint in order to carry a cutting tool. I dont think I want to live in a society with those kinds of restrictions.
