Been wanting an orange UKP for awhile now and finally scored one which should arrive this week. Any of you guys care to post some pics to tide me over until she get's here?

I'm kinda getting hooked on Orange handled knives. First it was Kershaw Tyrade and a Zing followed by my much beloved, orange Millie then an orange Kershaw OD-1 and now this UKP. Hopefully Sal will come out with an orange Para soon so I can keep my orange streak going. ;)

Here you go.

How does the back spring hold up after time on the UKPK? Does the blade develop any play (aside from the normal play with lockbacks)?

Dont forget to add a Drop Point UKPK to the mix!

AKnife, mine has held up great so far, I havent had it too long but I have opened and closed it quite a bit and I dont foresee it developing any play

Nice, I've been bouncing back and forth between picking up a UKPK or the Caly 3 for sometime now and I'm thinking I'll go for the UKPK (when funds allow that is).

I don't think you would have to worry about plat with the slip joint near as much as with a lock back, just not as many parts to wear.
Mine is dead solid.

It seems to me that with the two "slits" milled in the handle on both sides for the clip there is a great possibility that it could develop problems. There is a LOT of pressure on the two screws that hold the spring in place. One of the screws (the one with the slits) is pretty much held in place by only 1,000ths of an inch of G10. Maybe so, maybe not. I also don't like how little of the tip is protected by the handle when closed. Otherwise, I think the knife is the most attractive knife I've ever owned... It is BEAUTIFUL, simple and fits my hand like it was made especially for me!

The screw is threaded into the steel back spacer.
The G10 is strong enough not to "woller" out.
With this said I would have still liked a standard clip better.
I do see that the clip set up may be a problem on the FRN model.
As far as the tip goes I can not force any part of my finger in enough to touch the tip.

Thanks for all of the wonderful and well done photos. The tracking # indicates my knife should be delivered today so I'll post a report tomorrow on how I like it.

here's mine!

unfortunatly, for some odd reason, the backspring broke while opening it, i sent it to spyderco for a repair and i am waiting for news on it!

You'll get a new knife soon.

I am stunned that the spring broke. That is a real thick piece if steel! Must have been a flaw in the material, maybe some bubble in the steel or something.

Yes it is for sure a flaw in the material because I really didn't have to make any effort to open it or anything, i just opened it with my thumb as I usually do and i heard a "click" sound when it snapped. Then the blade continue farther back then its supposed to and I realised it was broken!

I can't wait to get it back as I really really love this knife!

Well she's here and she's sweet!!

There is nothing I don't like about this knife with the exception of the wire clip being a little tighter/harder to slip over the edge of my pocket than a standard clip. It's for sure not going to slip out of my pocket by accident.

I meant to ask this before on other models but forgot. What is the little emblem on the blade opposite of the Spyderco logo?
