I just picked up a drop point UKPK...and I just wanted to share what I thought were good and bad points, and offer suggestions.

Pros:
-nice light weight handle design
-love the 50/50 finger choil
-perfect clip
-made in USA

Suggestions for change:
-add a lock and call it the USPK (United States Pocket Knife)
-made the blade full flat ground
-bevel the handle scales for better spydie hole access

It reminds me of an old style knife (sodbuster?) like my grandfather would carry in his front pocket...but with modern technology and style. It is an interesting melding of old and new...at least to me.

FFG ukpks are on the way. Head over to BB there are some pics in a thread. There is a a ukpk with a lock. Its called the caly 3. I agree with you on the knife. Its a 21st century sodbuster.

I have a G-10 drop point that is a FFG, and I wouldn't change a thing about it. I like the fact it has no lock to fool with.
It only fits my hand when held in the choil position, and there is no way it would close on me.
If I want a knife just like it with a lock I'll carry my Caly 3, but I never carry the Caly. Prefer the UKPK.

Love mine!! great light weight knife, cuts everything i have ever needed it too, but like above i would carry a locking blade if necessary.

I guess another way to skin the cat: made a couple changes to the Delica.
Drop point blade with a 50/50 choil. I think it would be lighter than the Caly3 due to the FRN.
But you are also correct, the Caly3 is pretty close to what I am talking about, it just needs a drop point blade.

Thanks for playing along.

Love my Ti UKPK. Sometimes I think people get to caught up in the whole lock sceneraio, the UKPK works well for about 90% of my EDC tasks and I been using it for a long time. I can see where locks are a plus in hard use situations, but I am glad that Spyderco made a modern slip joint for us.

Did someone say UKPK??

Caly 3 CF and 3.5 in the back for obvious reasons.

Front to back:
CF
Ti
Black G10
Foliage Green G10 Drop Point
Foliage Green G10

Dont have the orange one. Been waiting a long time for the FFG FRN versions. Nothing beats the CF UKPK though. :)
