UKPK split sprig

Hi, I'd like to know how the new split spring works,(pictures would be great ).
I'm looking to retire a couple of ukpks and I'd like to check if the new spring is better.

Hi Mordi,

Welcome to the Spyderco forum.

The backspring is split into upper and lower springs. The lower spring keeps the blade closed providing an easier one hand open because the lower half of the spring is only half the spring tension. The upper and lower springs together keep the blade open which is stronger than just the lower half alone. So the blade is harder to close (more resistance).
