Can anyone give me any info about Ulster knives? I came across this grand daddy barlow Ulster and can't really seem to locate much info on the company and even less on a grand daddy barlow. I see traditional size Ulster barlows but have not found any of the larger size. Obviously this one isn't in the best condition and the blade has been reshaped and sharpened but my curiousity leads me to want to know more.
The tang stamp reads:
Ulster
Knife Co
NY
My understanding is this is one of their earlier/earliest tang stamp?
The reverse side of the blade has a 111 or 115. the last 1 and 5 are on top of each other. there also appears to be a faint "3/4" after the 5.
