Ulster was owned by Imperial Schrade, so I figure this is the right place for my question.

Were the carbon steel blades used by Ulster 1095?

EDIT:
If it matters, I think my Ulster Barlow dates from the 1950's or 1960's.

EDIT:
Corrected the brand to Ulster.

Hi afishhunter! As far as I am aware, Utica has never been owned by or affiliated with the Baers/Imperial Schrade. As to the question, it is my understanding that for many years, most American cutleries used 1095HC for their nonstainless knives.

Sorry. Typo. I meant Ulster.
If you could correct the title, I would appreciate it.

Done. My answer remains the same. To my knowledge all Ulster non stainless knives were 1095HC. In fact most were made, after consolidation, on the same assembly lines.

Thank you, good Sir.
That is what I thought, but wanted to confirm that with the experts here.
