ULSTER scout-style pocket knife questions

I don't have any documented data but I can tell you that this knife is most definitely post 1962.

I am going to "read the knife", as Bernard Levine has taught me to do..

From the one photo and your description I would be willing to bet this knife is circa 1970's-80's. It is not a collectible and is a user. I have no idea what type of steel this is as there is not enough close up and clear photographs to make an educated guess on this point. Current value is perhaps no more than 11.00-13.00 USD in EX-MINT condition.

Hope this helps a little until you hear definitively from B. Levine.

I've never seen an Ulster USA scout pattern in stainless, so I'll wager on it being 1095. As for the lineage... It looks quite a lot like the old 5-blade Scout, just dressed in white with a clear shield. I'd say same kind of run, possibly as a promo knife that has lost its ink label.

Thanks, guys! That's pretty much what I thought.

It's a nice little knife, especially with the addition of the phillips.
