I saw a 1969 version of this off-road bike on Pawn Stars the other day and I was impressed. I thought you guys would ejoy looking at it. Up to 4.5 gallons of fuel or water can be stored in each wheel!

The Rokon Trail-Breaker

The name is appropriate: this monster would most likely destroy the forest floor.

Yeah, i remember that one from a 10-year old review in Dirt Bike magazine. IIRC they were real impressed by the 2-wheel drive system, which made it able to climb slippery inclines other dirtbikes couldnt handle. But is was as slow as a snail.

I've read the top speed is somewhere between 25 to 35 mph...which begs the question, how fast does one need to ride in the forest? ;)

But think about the time it would take you to REACH the forest when youre plodding along asphalted roads at 30 mph! That is unless you have the great outddors as your backyard.

The 2-wheel drive concept is innovative, but id stick with a regular dirtbike with an aftermarket tank.

I saw that, it was cool. I love the show also.

I had a dirt bike as a teenager. 1972 Kawasaki 175 F7. Id like to have another. Maybe a super quiet 4 stroke honda.

Good point!

How about something from the Baja 1000 or the Paris-Dakar rally instead. :D

ROKON has learned from a rich history of riding and listening to owners.

I wonder what you learn by riding owners? :D

I've seen those in the back of Popular Science for years. I don't know where the idea came from that world ends = all roads destroyed. If the zombies did attack, I think riding through the forest on a squatty dirt bike is not the best idea. I still fall quite often on trails, even though I've been riding for a few years now (Honda CR250). I can't image riding off-trail with no hope of getting a hover-round when I broke my back...

Saw that seemed interesting if the top speed was 40-50mph and it was build a little taller I would be all over that.

i know... for the price i can get a nice dirtbike... and how do you get to the extra fuel and water? do the tires need air if no water or gas?

The extra fuel or water goes into resivoirs built into the wheels, not the tires.

the Rokon IS cool, unfortunately it IS NOT street legal.

i'll stick with my paid for and heavily modified KLR 650 and KLR 250.

another option would be the DR 650, because the KLR is a tall and somewhat heavy bike.

the "dual sport" or "enduro" bikes are dirt capable, but also street legal, so you can use it to run errands or commute and you don't need to haul it to the trail.

A good friend of mine has a Russian Ural with a sidecar. The wheel of the sidecar is driven, the bike is like a little tank, street legal too.

Hmm, how about a GT Xizang? It doesn't need fuel, other than what goes in your belly. You can throw it over your shoulder and port it over rough stuff, doesn't take half the maintenance and sure looks prettier :D

I have a 2007 Rokon Trail breaker and love it, mainly use it for hunting.
It will go about anywhere, it is almost like a squiral. I ride game trails so if a deer can go i usualy can also.

0-5 mph in first gear, 0-15 mph in second, 0-30 in third. 200 +/-
light enough it don't hurt to bad if it lands on me in a crash.

I used to have a Honda 110 , that was a great bike and one I used to fantasize about zoomin off on if the baloon ever went up.

I miss that bike.

if the world ended i'd rather have one of these than a dirt bike.

then again, i dont know how readily available fuel would be.

Pretty cool.
Doesn't the Marine Corps use Kawasaki KLR650's with diesel engines? That would probably be my choice. Especially if you could mod it to run bio-diesel also.
