Ultimate?

I keep thinking the Ultimate Personal Survival Set would be a 3/16” thick Hurley Creek with thin micarta scales paired up with a K Tool. I don’t think 1/4” thick is really needed, 3/16” would be plenty strong. What do you think?

I believe you are on to something John, and long as there is a straight edge somewhere to strike a fire steel.

Do you want to try doing mine in 3/16"? I do agree that it would be more than thick enough for my intentions.
NO SCALES though and nicely rounded edges as with the original. No issues if you are already committed to the 1/4" version.

A matching K TOOL and HC would be a great combo
