I've been wondering- Does anyone know the knife that Uma Thurman used in the first scene of Kill Bill volume 1, the fight scene with Vivica A. Fox?

...and what about the scene where she cuts through the guy's Achilles tendon? That knife looks a lot like a Schrade LB-7. Brutal!

Yeah, its a 112. You can tell by the blade shape. It also fits his name "Buck" which, seeing as how he's a prototypical jaggoff would seem "funny" to him.

Yup...Desert Dagger as tested by Cold Steel....

Buck didn't have a knife. The knife was from that other guy, I don't think he had a name.

You know, you're RIGHT Unc! I completely forgot about that! That's my bag. Still think Mr. Tarantino (sp?) would think it was funny. He DID use like 100 gallons of fake blood for the club sword fight!

SOG Desert Dagger in a custom leather sheath.

It was recently discontinued. It cost about $100 online. Not to be confused with its replacement, the Desert Daggert.

This guy is known to make pretty decent sheaths for the Desert Dagger: http://www.vessleatherworks.com/
Thanks, BT. I tried freeze framing the DVD, but my POS player showed very blurred stills. Made in Malaysia.......

What's kind of funny is that Uma cuts the sheath as she puts the blade back in it. You have to hit slow mo to see this. You'd think a professional assasin would know better.

I remember that great scene from Get Smart:

Saeed [grinning and pulling out knife]: Now that we have the Control agents, they’re at our mercy.

Abdul: Put your knife back in its scabbard, Saeed! I’ve got other plans for Agent 99 and Maxwell Smart!

Ssshhhhrrrrr

Saeed [looking sick]: Abdul...I don’t have a scabbard.

Abdul: [turning to look]: You do now!

On a side note, Maxwell Smart's shoe-phone, as well as the briefcase knife from the Sean Connery movie "From Russia with Love" are both in the International Spy Museum in downtown Washington D.C.! Its worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood!

I notice all sorts of screw ups like that in movies. Another knife one I noticed recently is in the second season DVD release of Deadwood. Jane get caught up in some rope tied to her horses's saddle. She falls off and is laying on the ground outside of the Doc's office. The knife she tries to cut herself free with it not the same knife that the Doc uses. The knife that Jane just gave him and the one she was just using.

Made me laugh. How they missed that one, who knows.
