I'm not familiar with the Umfaan model. How is it different from the Sebenza. Is it a frame locking knife as well. Does it come in small and regular sizes. How does it open? Anybody got any pictures? That would be great!! Thanks

Robert,

The Umfaan is an integral lock knife like the Sebenza. It only comes in one size - TINY! :) Seriously though, it is a well-built knife, and looks and feels like it can handle more than other knives in that size range. However, there is a larger difference between the Umfaan and the small Sebenza than there is between the small and the large Sebenza (IMO).

Here's a link to the Chris Reeve web page for the Umfaan that gives the specs for the knife. Note, however, that it is no longer made - although rumors abound that Chris is redesigning the Umfaan for an eventual reintroduction!

Hope this helps,

Matthew

The Umfaan is a miniture Sebenza with a blade 2.25 inches. It opens the same way as the Sebenza. The only difference is that it comes standard with the double thumblugs. Also it is discontinued and may be hard to find.

It has no belt/pocket clip. I carry it in the small outer pocket of my Mission Wallet.

For anyone in the Charlotte area who would be interested. I went to the C&E Gun/Knife show at Metrolina Expo today and there were two NIB Umfaans for sale at the L&W Tactical booth. They were only asking $300.00 a piece. (PS: I'm in no way affiliated with C&E or L&W. Just trying to be helpful.)

Do a search on the Umfaan in the Reeve Forum and you'll come up with a bunch of neat pictures.
