Umfaan Being redesigned - Not available until further notice.

There is not any new information. This has been the case for quite some time now.
 
The Umfaan is really tiny. I have one and it is practically dwarfed by my Mnandi.
No, I'm not parting with either of them :)
 
I found the Mnandi to be a more practical, usable size as well as being much easier to open (I still miss my Umfaans, though:().
 
Hi if some one has time could you post a picture of a Umfaan next to another reeve for scale? I haven't seen one.

There's also a couple photos of some Umfaans with Small and Large Sebenzas in the Folder Photo thread. It's somewhere in the latter pages.
 
For all intents and purposes, the Mnandi is the redesigned Umfaan. I really don't know why CRK hasn't removed the reference from the website. Perhaps it just keeps their options open in the future. Some of the longer term Reeve collectors would have to confirm this, but I don't think that the Umfaan ever sold well enough during its production life to justify the cost of manufacture, which contributed to it getting canned. The dressier Mnandi, however, seems to be doing fine in the "gentlemen's fine folder" niche.
 
The Umfaan is tiny. Like really tiny. I can see the appeal for people who like small watch pocket knives, but I have trouble justifying a Small Sebenza, the Large is where my heart lies. I can't see the Umfaan coming back in the near future – if at all.
 
Every time I talk to the folks at CRK, I ask :D

Last I heard it was still on the to-do list, but no date.
 
If you perform a google image search for zulutrio (one word) you will find a comparison picture of the three sizes.
 
I'd buy one too. But I can tell you right now that it wouldn't get used much, if ever.

My heart also lies with the large...
 
might be nice to have a sebbie that fits in the watch pocket but i love my large 21. I practically look at my small with disdain since i got a large. Not really i just love the feel of the large.
