Umfaan in the house!!

Well, as I had hoped I got my Umfaan today. I appreciate all the advice I received in the earlier Umfaan thread. That input helped me decide to get it. It came from L&W Tactical at the C&E gun/knife show in Charlotte. It is, to the best of my knowledge, a Unique Graphic model. The dealer did not have the DOB certificate with him so it will be mailed to me next week. I'm posting some shots so let me know what you think.
 
Yes, it looks like a Unique Graphic model.

You will love it.

When I wear jeans; I carry a small Sebenza in my watch pocket.

When I'm more dressed; I carry the Umfaan.

It's really just a smaller Sebenza.

I have the 3 sizes (the Zulu Trio) and like all 3, but I use the large the least.

I just can't find anything that the small can't do that the large can.
 
If I HAD to choose between my Umfaan and my small Sebbies, the Umfaan would win. Great little knife. You're going to love it. :D

Thanks guys, I'm very pleased with my Umfaan. RGRAY I too have the small Sebbie and much prefer it to a large. But I guess I have to get a large Sebbie now that I've got a small Sebbie, Mnandi and the Umfaan. Can't have the folder "family" lacking a member.
 
That's very nice, I didn't know Umfaan's ever had unique designs.

Great knife-are these still being made(special order???) or just have to be lucky? I imagine there are a lot of folks that would like to get their hnds on one...BTW Trane Fan-You asked in a previous thread which type of Sebenza I hade decided on-I just purchased a small classic the other day-can't wait to get it and try it out...Coltrane rules!!!-Tony

No the Umfaan is not currently being made but there is supposed to be a redesigned model coming out one day. I'm hoping against hope that it will have a Wharncliffe blade. Since they are no longer produced I was amazed to find that this guy had 3, yes 3, Umfaans. I think mine was the nicest of the 3 but all looked great. Congrats on the small classic Sebbie. Yes Coltrane rules. Best Jazz ever produced, IMNSHO.
 
Good score trane!! I think you made a wise choice picking one up, They are getting harder and harder to come by. Even when/if the new one comes out, folks will still want the old style. Everyone loves stuff they can't have or find.
You can get a large anytime. Maybe for a good deal too.

trane fan, the first 5 are the 5 production runs 1997-2001; the last one is a unique graghic.

Actually I had to special order one to match my plain small and large Sebenzas.

I guess that makes the plain unique. :)
 
I have a lot of pictures of unique Umfaans.

Here's one; it was called "The Dow Jones."
