Just recieved my first Umfaan and noticed that the blade slightly sticks out past the handle when closed...is this normal? Appreciate any feedback that other Umfaan owners have.

Mine's normal..sets under. If it sticks out, that's not normal...please post pics.... Mines chevron with lines

I will post pics when I get home...I dont believe that it is normal either. The knife was back at CRK in October last year and when it was they replaced the blade. Does not look like they noticed it otherwise I am sure that it would have been corrected.

Here are the pics, I recieved a response from Heather at CRK and they will reprofile the blade when I get it to them... I do not believe that they stock spare blades but I am sure that they have BG42 that they can cut blades from.

Just sucks that I just recieved the knife today and am going to have to ship it out and lose it for who knows how long! Especially since the knife was at CRK on 10/13/11 and they put the blade on that has the issue...

wow, there warranty/ repair department misses lot.

That's a huge mistake on there behalf.

Imagine if you carried it without realizing it, and it cut you.

wolf5391: You seem to be overly harsh of CRK...I have noticed on other posts that you seem to always be on the harsh side of the CRK threads. Did CRK do wrong by you?

I would say it is understandable...they are a small shop with few employees, overall I think that they turn out a very high quality product and there are going to be issues in any manufacturing plant.

I did not post this to bash CRK but to educate myself as this is the first Umfaan that I have owned and was not sure whether or not for some reason they were all produced like this.

Dane,

You are in good hands.

Heather and company are THE BEST in customer service.

They pamper me everytime I send something in for upgrades or other misc things.

It will be worth the wait.

It does suck when things like this happen, but atleast you know it will be taken care of.

Awwww..... just hit the end with a file and it will take that nasty point off :) Really though I had an Umfaan a few years ago and it was perfect. Should not be a problem to fix for customer service.
