My Umfaan acquired some scratches on the "Spear through Grass" decorated side in the performance of it's daily duties.
I lightly rubbed them out with some 1500 wet/dry sandpaper and thought it looked okay.
Hoping to improve the looks, I placed some 8 micro sandpaper on a flat surface and rubbed the decorated scale (dissassembled from knife) lenghtwise over the paper a few times, and was astounded with how well it works.
To me the finish is as new.
I used Norton "Tufbite Durite" that I had purchased from my local NAPA automotive parts store.
Don't know if this would work on all decorated finishes, but I would not be hesitant to try if I had one.
