My three year old Umfaan sheath is too loose. The knife often works it way out and gets banged aroung by my keys and coins. I soaked the sheath in water, flattened and dried it: the sheath is tigher but is still a little loose and will get looser as it conforms back to the Umfaan shape. Any ideas?

I had the same issue - either get a new one from CRK or have Gary Graley make you one. I had him make me two :D one in hard leather and one soft, but both for in-pocket carry. They are very nice!

You can have the pouch restitched. . .or for $15.00; you can buy a new pouch. . .

Gary is the way to go. Not only is he one of the best aquaintances you'll make around this place, albeit he's a little nutty, but he'll swing ya a sheath that's worthy. He's that good. And a fine dancer to boot. Don't take my word for it...

I wouldn't waste my time on another CR sheath, because you will eventually wind up with the same problem. I have about a half dozen G2 sheaths.I'm certain they will out live me. They also look very cool and Gary is one hell of a nice guy.

I think I'll try restitching to tighten the sheath. A new sheath would only eventually loosen as it conforms to the knife's shape. I'll also look at sheaths from other sheath makers.

Gary's sheaths are the best.
Here's something I've done to a few sheaths to tighten them. Go to Home Depot and get a sheet of the self adhesive green felt they sell. It's used to stick under jewelry boxes, etc, to prevent scratching furniture. Cut it to size and line the sheath with it. The glue is really good and besides making the sheath tighter it's like polishing your knife everytime you slide it in or out.
