...tonight and the winning bid was $2000. Pardon, but I may be in the midst of a stroke! Provenance on it was one-of-a-kind for certain. But inquiring minds wanta know...did someone here win it?

Well the guy must have had a bit of disposible cash on hand to make a purchase like that. He may just make a profit later if he finds the right buyer or maybe it was just something that he could have to drool over when he wants to. Good for him.

That wasn't your standard, run of the mill Umfaan. It had a blued, raindrop damascus blade, star sapphire, and a nice graphic down the slab and around the sapphire.

Expensive auction ? I'll put it this way. . . . .it wouldn't be heading to Joe-Ja.

Beauty is in the eye of the deep pocketed person. :D

I finally saw a very small picture of it. Yes, it iS beautiful, the graphic IS gorgeous. And it has a sapphire, wow! That is really something!! But, I do not have that kind of cash. I am still stuck on it is: $2,000!! OMG!!

I found another Umfaan on ebay for sale. It is not as audacious at the $2K one but it is still nice. Buy it now price is $599...

Starting bid = $499 and it's been "lightly carried." IMO. . . . .steep.

For $500 - $600. . . .I'd seek a custom maker or pick up a very nice small or large Sebbie (i.e., woody, graphic, etc.).

True - but it would not be an Umfaan...there's just something special about them!

I agree that there is something very special about an Umfaan!!

Ahhhhh. . . . .so the two of you would to buy it for $500 - $600 ? :D

I'm not into the Umfaan thing. I do enjoy small knives, but prefer slipjoints. For $500 - 600, I could obtain a real nice. . . . .well. . . . . :D
