So it seems these little beauties were made from 1997-2002 only. With computer designs being the rule, though there are plains out there. My question is are the CGG designs year specific.. IE; my Fly { pheasant tail} is 1998, Spear and grass 1999, Circles 2000, and there has been posted a Spear and sun as 2002. I know some of you guys and gals have way more extensive collections, so please chime in with what your birth cards say... This is to revive a couple of threads that I feel died before their time! Thanks, Bart

Well I guess that shows that most CGG's were available through the run, or at the very least multiple years. I am surprised at the general lack of interest in Umfaans. I always carry a large, but these are so neat, and for someone wanting a small knife, they seem ideal, very non intimidating.

Thanks, LW, seems this thread has generated no interest or curiosity.... the people have spoken!! ( by their silence!)

I wouldn't mistake silence for lack of interest. With me, the lack of interest has alot more to do with the price these typically go for.
If for some reason, they were brought back,..I would have at least one despite my lack of interest in small knives.
Would still love to have one now, but probably not at the ~2x original price.

My sentiments exactly! Love to have one...just too big a premium on one

Big +1 for me. Very well said.

They are beautiful, no matter their diminutive size...

For me it is a really nice model, small and elegant.. It's a couple of days that I saw one for sale, and is really tempting me...
In my opinion, considering the rapid price rise that took the Regular models, it is normal that even the Umfaan have risen much money.
Especially due to their rarity, for such a short time of their production

This brings up a great point... For a CGG ( since most Umfaans are) Reg what is the difference in price between a large and small ? Assuming condition , box papers and age are comparable. I suspect Umfaans were made in much smaller numbers ,What was the retail price difference between a Small reg. CGG and a Umfaan.?

I hope CRK will produce the Umfaan again, and do so before certain Chinese manufacturers find out how much this model is in demand.

Maybe I could have the answer.. Wait a minute

Nick, we have the same catalog! I love it... This is the detail page of the prices for the various models, decorated, with damascus, etc..

Thanks , that really makes it clear. $10 or less difference new.... and I think a mint decorated Small BG 42 Seb, would bring $500-$600 all day long, and so does an Umfaan, so in my mind, not out of line at all... You may see each listed higher, but real world, sold pricing, I think that's close....
