Just got a call from CRK and the Umnums are ready to ship within a week or two. Price $400. Do I want one? You bet.. But the first batch will be for you right handed jerks out there:grumpy:The left hand ones will be available near the end of the year.:D

So lets hear it from the people who get one of these as to how they like it!:thumbup:;):eek::eek:

WOO HOO!!!

Just got the phone call this morning. Heather said they will be making the first 100 this month. Now I just have to get the gelt together.

Just got my call from Carmine. She said they would most likely be shipping out this coming week. Going to be the 29th before I will have room on my card to pay, but am so excited about it I told Carmine to ship it with Saturday Delivery! Can't wait to get back into a CRK knife.........especially this one!!

I just called, and the first run is all sold via pre orders. :grumpy:

I'm on the list now. :D If any of you have a spot and do not want it, please get with me. I take your spot in line all while making this :D face.

:D

But I ordered the first 100. I'm not going to open them, just use the boxed knives to prop open doors, as paperweights, etc.

Hey, there's always the next batch! Better get your orders in though, as I think I might need another 100 to build a fort.

:D

Professor.

I think I'm first on the left hand list. I about crapped my pants when I thought that I might get a left hand umnum in a week. I told the lady at CRK what a cruel cold hearted person she was by teasing me like that.;):)

I got a call this morning too. I'd forgotten all about getting on the pre-order list. I'm sure glad CRK ws keeping track. :D This is going to be a nice EDC.

Wonder what changes were incorporated into the production line. . . .based on the input from prototype owners ?

Anyone ? :D

I got the phone call today too!!! I am VERY excited about this!! I pre-ordered in '06.

Price $400.

Whenever another thread pops up about why a Sebenza costs so much, one of the most common responses is that the manufacture of the knife involves extremely close tolerances. Fair enough. But where other than in the production of the pivot bushing feature is this of much importance? With this feature absent in the Umnum doesn't it seem appropriate that it should cost less as opposed to more than a large Sebenza?

I also feel the same way, but I am to much of a CRK fan to pass. Maybe the large reg. BG-42 with blue single stud and spacer, and blasted hardware is the best EDC knife to ever roll off the CRK line for me? One thing for sure, its going to be very hard to bump out of my pocket. :D

There are a number of improvements on the Umnum. I think you have hold one to appreciate it. My large Micarta Classic was $455. So $400 doesn't seem terribly out of line. Now that I had time to think about it, I should have bought an Umnum even if it was right handed. If I didn't like it I could sell when I get my left hand model. Oh well.:p

I actually got interested in the Umnum because it doesn't have a pivot bearing, I like to tweak the pressure on the pivot of folding knives to my exact specification. Oh well, since I'm a lefty, I have time to keep saving :D

I was under the impression that the Umnum pivot did the same thing as the bearing in the Sebenza? Is that not the case? Although I'm exactly like you theonew, in that I like to be able to adjust my pivot to my liking, and this is usually to increase the pivot pressure as I like the blade to be tight.:D
