RE "Good will towards men (and women)"

The internet can be a cold place and sometimes I despair about the future of humanity. Community and friendship appears to be slowly replaced be us sitting in our respective cells entering data into our screens, while thinking we are part of something, when in fact we are alone. In the face of this "doom and gloom" there are forces that work against these notions and show how technology is actually bringing people together in new and profound ways. In a very small, and perhaps meaningless way, I was part of this positive idea of the future this Christmas.

I had posted that I was looking for an early Umnum in S30V in my tagline. I didn't have an Umnum and was a fan of the old features. One of our most enthusiastic forum members, Mikepapa1, took notice of this and gave me a heads up about an ebay sale on just the knife I was after. As fortune would have it, I won the bid on this blade. Late on Christmas Eve (perfect timing) the postman arrived with a box that I opened this morning. To say I am thrilled with my new knife is an understatement. It's awesome and perfect in every way. But in addition to the "new toy" thrill I was also instilled with some hope for us all. Here in my hand was physical "real-world" proof of the connection between Mikepapa1's positive and generous forum personality, and my daily life. In other words its not all illusion as some would profess. Before technology this type of connection was not possible, but from miles away Mikepapa did me a real favour. Anyways.....before I get too sentimental........thanks Dave.....hope to return the favour some day. Merry Christmas everyone!

Here, here!

I recently purchased a Lefty Umnumzaan from mikepapa1. To say that he is a GREAT guy to deal with is almost a dis-service to him. Truly one of the outstanding individuals to have in the community. My experience with him has be that of an individual who truly cares, and also one who is honorable in his dealings, yet somehow finds a way to OVER DELIVER!!!!!! Our community is better for having him around. Thanks, Dave, you are truly one of the good guys out there!

I am humbled by your kind words my friend!! I am very happy that you were able to get the knife that you wanted.
Now I have to give a hat tip to another member of the forum pschencker who less than an hour ago sent me a text about a BNIB Large Regular Sebenza listed on the same site. I am now the proud owner of my eighth Large Regular Sebenza thanks to Paul!! Merry Christmas one and all!!
All the best, Dave

Again, many thanks for the kind words!! Thank You Blake.. but there are many many members here on the CRK forum who will always go out of there way to help fellow CRK aditics. Dino, Tom, Dave, Rich, Ryan, Steve, Dave, Lisa, Paul, Howard, Cody, Craig, John, Frank.. I could go on and on.. to many names to mention.. But all have been a help to me and I am sure others here on the forum. And lets not forget BladeForums itself without it many of us would be completely in the dark. I want to wish all of you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
And as always, all the best..

P.S. Cant wait to see the pictures Cody!!:)

Great post!
He is indeed a very good man and has been a pleasure to speak with. I enjoy reading his posts and often get the itch to buy a new knife after doing so because his love of collecting is contagious and electrifying- I find that very refreshing.

Congrats on your new umnum, I love both of mine.

ah shucks. Cut it out.. Believe me Rich the pleasure is all mine!! After all if not for you I would never have expanded my horizons and bought a Nyala!! Besides I am just a "Collector" of these fine knives. I admire those like you who go out and put them to the test in real world situations!! In the woods or in the kitchen!! You and those like you prove how good these knives really are!!
All the best,
