Are there aftermarket pocket clips available for the Umnumzaan with an offset so the clip doesn't ride against the lock bar? Looking for one that will remove the issue with pressing on the pocket clip giving lock bar pressure that makes it hard to open unless you're holding it exactly right.

Thanks!

The deep machined Lynch clips still sit on the lock-bar, but they are shorter and much thicker/stiffer than the OEM clip, so less pressure on the lock-bar if you hold it wrong.

Add to that a mechanism to keep me from putting my index finger on the bar and squeezing ever tighter as I hold the knife to be able to increase the pressure on the thumb stud to open.

Question for the OP, do you have a 21 and if so do you also struggle to open it due to the location of the lockbar?

I purchased my Zaan second hand, I think most of the break in was already done for me; it most certainly opens differently than other CRK's but not any more difficultly. In fact, my Zaan is consistently easier to thumb flick - though I seldom do so - than the others in my stable.

I agree with this. A broken in Zaan Is , in my experience, one of the very easiest CRK to open. I actually carried a zaan when my thumb was healing from being cut because it opened with almost no pressure on the sore thumb.

I recently got this clip from a generous member Eric Alp Eric Alp and it has completly eliminated the hot spot from the factory clip. It has made the grip so much better that I plan on keeping the zaan. I was considering selling it because of the grip and the horrible hot spot created by the factory clip.

Anyone else having the same problem, here is a solution. In full disclosure there has been complaints that this clip is hard to clip on to thick material pants.

What clip is it?

Not sure what that clip is, but it resembles the Millet clips shape wise. The Thunderbird and RGT clips are flat on the exposed side. I've not seen one that doesnt ride on the lockbar, but some are shorter and don't affect it much.

I will say once a Zaan is broke in well they are much much easier to open ... it's like night and day.

I kinda want a milled clip that's shaped like a reverse J if that makes sense, with the bottom point of the reverse J touching the frame instead of the lockbar.

I have a Millit clip and it 100% eliminated the hot spot issue. I just recently got a new Magnacut Zaan and I was shocked when I felt how high the clip end was. Never had a CRK like that before, Zaan or otherwise.

Anyway, dumb question, but do people still know the thumb stud opening on the Zaan is different than a Sebenza? You need to push up from 6 o'clock on the stud, rather than over from 3 o'clock like a Sebenza. This tripped up a lot of people when the Zaan first came out. My new one was crazy smooth and easy to open as new, and it drops shut with just a little wrist wiggle. Or maybe I just got lucky?
