Well with all the recent testing threads and videos I thought I might as well join in on the fun and break in my new umnumzann.
First I just want to say this does not represent an official test of this knife or steel and is more for my enjoyment than anything.
I'm going to let the pictures do most of the talking but some things to note are I'm not entirely sure what the blade steel is because the
birth card reads S35VN but the stamp on the blade indicates an 'S' which means S30v. So I'll leave it up to you to guess. The edge is straight from the factory and hadn't been used prior to this. What's being cut is five 12*12*9 inch cardboard boxes and about 6 feet of heavy duty pallet straps. From start to finish was under 15 minutes and the knife was still able to slice paper cleanly afterwards. It could also shave some arm hair but not as cleanly as before.
Overall I'm more than pleased with this knife. Slicing cardboard is a breeze which took minimal effort and force. Which plays into ergos and handle comfort. Throughout the cutting not one time did I feel any hot spots. In fact is was my hand holding the cardboard that was cramping. There was no noticeable damage to the edge as far as I could see.
