Umnumzaan blade hole ?

Hey guys:
Can anyone tell me why there is a hole behind the thumb lug that is only noticeable/seen as the blade is opened from about sixty percent. The hole disappears behind the Ti slabs just before the thumb studs lock into their intended position. Is this normal? Please feel free to comment because this is my very first CRK purchase.
 
The older CRK folders have the dimple that serves as the detent. Newer versions have a hole all the way through. In my experience with old vs new, the newer have a stronger detent as I think it digs deeper so to speak. All are great though and it's just some of the small changes CRK makes from time to time.
 
I just wanted to take a minute to THANK mainaman for the great thread information as well as Haze and nyefmaker for their perspective & responses to my question regarding my new CRK.

Everyone on this forum seems to always go out of their way to help with answering questions. I would also like to give a thumbs up to WILSON COMBAT for their outstanding customer service.
