Apologies if this is considered a duplicate post but after searching I only found similar threads talking about the Sebenza.

I recently purchased tanto glass blasted and drop point sandblasted umnumzaans to figure out which I liked better. Turns out I prefer the glass blast but ... I like both blade styles, and I'm having a hard time justifying keeping both knives. Given the 9-12 month lead time on getting a new dp blade for the gb scales, I'm considering keeping the dp blade as a swap and selling the rest from that knife.

What are people's thoughts on this? I know that the blades are hand fit to the scales, and I know people have swapped blades without issue, and I'm also seeing the following:

Video from the servicing manager saying (at :56) "each knife, especially on a sebenza, is hand fit to that specific knife"

Replacement washers info page, where sebenza & mnandi washers need to be hand fit, but umnumzaan, inkosi and impinda washers will be sent without fitting:

I know that I could just test the blade swap and see how I like the fit, and then try selling the scales on the exchange. That said, if the blade doesn't fit well or the scales don't sell, I would likely want to sell the entire knife and wait on the replacement blade lead time. Therefore, I'd prefer to get people's opinions first, so that if necessary, I can sell the full knife as truly LNIB.

TLDR: thoughts on selling umnumaan scales/hardware/box/accessories without the blade, and keeping that blade as a swap for a different zaan?

I did the same... Have one complete Zaan, with two blades. I swap the blades without any issues. The key is to keep the washers with the blade. Meaning, my tanto washers stays with my tanto blade, and when I swap to my DP blade I use my DP washers.

Yes as you stated the blades are fit to the lock. I would keep everything stock, sell the one I didn’t want then put in the order for a new blade. A blade swap could result in a knife that seems to function fine but could actually be unsafe.

Also, swapping blades can create a voided warranty issue when not done by CRK. If you swap the blades, it would be immoral and unethical to not disclose that to the new buyer. If you sell only the scales, prepare to take a huge bath. The only buyer will be someone wanting to do a scale mod, without voiding their warranty. If you got 150 for just the scales, count it a good deal. Don't expect to get the $350 you'd think they should cost. If you can be patient enough, you're better selling a whole, complete, stock model and then ordering a second blade from CRK.

Appreciate the feedback everyone. I've put myself in the queue for a replacement drop point blade and will plan to sell the full stonewashed drop point knife.
