So I have been wanting a Large Micarta Insingo for a couple months. I then get a text from my good friend who recently purchased one to sell to me! Awesome!!! So I've been patiently waiting last and this week to meet up with him to purchase the large 21 off of him. During this time I told him to carry and use it to see what he thinks of it. It was meant to be a user for me so I don't mind it getting some wear before I take it over.
The day approaches closer for me and I decide to go to a local knife store and see there CRK's just for kicks. I see they have the usual Sebenzas in stock but its the Umnumzaan that really pulls me in! The blade shape! The handle shape and texture! The curves that just impressed in every way! It just looked so sexy money! I've never handled one before and ask to see it. As soon as it enters into my hand I realize " I must own on of these" but then also realize Im about to spend another large sum on this Large micarta insigno that I've been promised. "How many do you have in stock" I ask where he replied "Just the one" EEEEEEEEESSSSSHHHH .
Now I have to decide . After a couple of minutes pass and I come to another idea and perhaps if I buy this Umnumzaan now I can trade it towards that large insigno as he does not have one and it will allow me to fondle this one in the mean time. I call him and let him in on my plan and he is game. I walk out with the knife with a smile on my face and get into my truck holding, opening and closing and just admiring the fit and finish as always. I realized I didn't check any of the in box hardware or paper work!!! I open it up and first thing I see is the date of birth pop out me
The same birthday as my girlfriends 30th birthday !!!! The same girl I'm proposing to in a month !!!
I called my friend and explained the situation to him and told him I could not sell this knife. He understood and said he had grown fond of the large micarta insigno anyways. PERFECT!!!
So it seems I may have a knife that will remind me of my soon to be fiancé/wife! Not to mention that Umnumzaan means "Boss" "Head of the family"
