In 2012 I bought a small sebenza plain . Debated over a zaan then settled on the sebenza. It has been my edc for all of these years . But that zaan had been in the theback of my mind . Then reeve got further behind on production, 5 plus years and I keep missing them on sale šŸ˜¢. My order is still in but it's over three out . I was looking at knifecenter one nite and low and behold they had a few .I jumped in a bought one . I never owned a magnacut steel knife either. My little sebenza is in s35vn . Not a bad choice but it never takes an edge like the many 20cv knives I have . Now back to the zaan in magnacut, I cut hardwoods, cardboard and enough paper to determine that this came sharp shaving. Also I can easy open it with my thumb and close it too . Finally I decided to touch it up . Just gave it a quick going over on my sharpmaker. And the edge polished up to a razor edge. As this my only magnacut knife i have to say I like it . It looks to me that Reeve is hiting on all the cylinders. Absolutely a better edge than my sebenza.
 
I love my Zaan. When I bought it few months ago you couldn't hardly find any for sale now there are probably 6 in the for sale section here. I see them for decent prices also. I paid a little high for mine but I wanted it then.
 
I got my first Umnumzaan tanto just a few days ago. I have a few variations of the Zebenza that I often carry and use, truly great knives, but I gotta give it to the Zaan - it hit all the marks and that much harder than the Sebenza.

B buckeyejake did you get the Tanto or DP?
 
Tanto will be my next Zaan. I want it in S45 so I can do DLC treatment.

Well A abraves my next will be the DP but I'm not gonna coat it. I did see one today that just came back with an army green handle and black hardware + blade. Orange O rings. That looks sick...

Sorry didn't see your post .I got a dp and am loving it . I gave it a polishing with my sharp maker . The magnacut is making a believer out of me. I only carry it on my wood walks , a little big for an edc for me , still have my small sebenza for that. Might take it deer hunting and that's where the rubber will meet the road. Glad that steel isn't going away. A chris reeve knife is just hard to beat.
