Ive recently purchased a large and small Sebenza 21 Insingo Micarta and love them both ... I also have a Plain large Sebenza 21 Tanto blade I really like. Ive been thinking of my next CRK knife looking at a Plain 25 or maybe an Umnumzaan but living in small town Iowa Ive had no luck finding a dealer to actually put my hands on either. I guess Im wanting some opinions and feedback on each or perhaps something to sway me one way or the other. So any pros & cons that you could share would be appreciated.

Pick one and buy it. Then save up and buy the other. Seriously, they are great knives and both are worth owning. Both built like tanks, feel great in hand, etc. Biggest difference IMO is the obvious difference in appearance.

I'd be perfectly happy with either one, but I'm even happier with both. :)

I may end up with both in time ... I guess since Ive never even handled either Im curious how they compare to the 21 or if they do? or if there is really much different other then aesthetics? They would be used as part of my EDC rotation as I usually carry a smaller option along with a sturdy larger folder. My 21s have definately gotten more carry time then my ZTs and Benchmades or Sydercos since Ive taken the plunge.

I like the 25. The handle is thin I like the finger groves and it doesn't look as tactical as the umnum.

The 21 feels pretty much like the 25 to me. The Umnumzaan doesn't really feel like the 21 or 25. Plus, the first time you open the Umnumzaan and the rubber-ringed thumbstuds hit the scale, and it feels all rubbery and cushiony, you go whoa!

Like some wise sage (me) once said, "they all cut stuff". So just get what you think you'll like the best. Its highly - almost completely - subjective. I would say the Umnumzaan for you just to have something a little different than the 21.

Obligatory pic.

I spent some time considering the same knives before deciding on the 25 simply because I liked it's looks considerably more than the Umnumzaan. I'm totally satisfied with my choice. good luck :D

Okay, here's an in-hand difference between them: The jimping on the 25 is noticeably more aggressive than the Umnumzaan or 21. If that matters to you.

I bought a 25 as my first CRK and am very happy with it. I wanted some of the characteristics of the zaan in a 21 sized knife, and I do think I made the right decision. The 25 is a more versatile knife for my needs, not that I don't want the others too.
