Umnumzaan or Sebenza 25

Alright, last time I will bother you guys:thumbup:

If you had a choice would you buy a Umnumzaan or a Sebenza 25?:D

Haha, just kidding... Personally, I would do the 25. ONLY because it is available with micarta scales. If you do not like the micarta, then I would probably get the Umnum.
 
I prefer the Umnumzaan. I like the blade stops/thumb stud combo and the single stand off. I didn't like the 25's weird stop pin- it took away from the simplicity of putting the knife back together flawlessly. I also like the more hollow grind instead of the high hollow/flat-ish grind on the 25.
I switch between a small starbenza and an umnumzaan everyday, traded my 25 away.
 
I think I lean toward the Umnumzaan but as stated in this thread, the 25 with inlays looks nice
 
Can't go wrong with either one. I've been rotating between the Umnumzaan and 25 as one of EDC's. I also carry a Strider along with the CRK's
I like the false edge on the Umnumzaan, but the smoothness and clunk sound of the 25 is appealing. I would have to say, I love them equally.
 
Ive been watching a bunch of videos about them, reading online, just cant make up my mind.

If I go Umnumzaan, I would get a Star-tac and if I go Sebenza 25 I would get the Micarta inlay model
 
I have a 25, a Startac, a large 21 Insingo and a small 21 . I carry them all but I carry the 25 the most. I love the ergonomics of the 25 and the way it deploys, the stop pin is a bit of a pain but if you mark it with a sharpy so you know where it needs to be positioned when you put it back together it is no biggy. I also prefer the regular hollow grind found on the 21 and the Startac to the High hollow flat grind but not enough that it would change my mind. I vote for the 25.
 
I prefer the 25, the blade grind seems to make it a better slicer and I am not fond of the disk on the Umnumzaan.
 
Very surprised there have been several responses and nobody has said "get both":)

I personally think the 25 is great but don't own an Umnumzaan yet to compare. My guess is you'd be thrilled with either. Good luck with the decision.
 
The reason you can't decide is that you actually want a large 21 Micarta (slim in pocket, bushing system, double-click walk-and-talk, single tool take-down, gorgeous hollow grind.)

You can't help but love it! :D...sorry......then again the other types are sweet too.
 
I own both a 25 and an old style pivot Umnumzaan, with a Star-Tac scheduled to arrive today. I definitely prefer the Zaans.
 
Sebenza 21. Just kidding. Out of both of those I would say the 25. Though the 21 is my favorite. Had an Umnumzaan for 10 seconds and the ergos are just not for me. However, if you already have a 21 I would go Umnumzaan as they are night and day in my book.

:D I have a large Micarta 21, received it about a week or so ago. Loving it right now.
 
I will be interested to hear you thoughts between the two after you spend some time with both.
 
I recommend them both!! But I will say that if tip strength is important to you the 25 would be a better choice.
