So I have finally decided to order a CRK but now the next dilemma is
which one???

I like larger sized "tactical knives" I also like jimping.

But since im paying so much money I just want to get the right knife. Does the Sebenza lock into your hand at all?

What do you guys think?

toss a coin...

heads = sebenza, tails = zaan. i highly doubt you'll be disappointed in either one.
i can almost guarantee that you'll end up with both ;)

i'd probably go with the zaan but that's strictly opinion...

They both lock into your hand and are comfortable to use. I ended up liking the umnumzaan better and sold the sebbie.

I asked the same question you're asking on the CRK forum about 2 years ago. I got about 40% for the zaan and 60% for the seb.
I have both. I bought the zaan first and like it much better than the seb.
They're both great knives...it's kind of a coin toss. You won't be sorry about choosing their one.
If you don't like one you can sell it here for a very small loss....one of the great things about any CRK.

If ask your ? on the CRK forum you'll get more comments ( with more detailed answers) than here in on this forum.

You'll end up buying both anyway, so it doesn't really matter which one you get first... lol :)

I do love my zaan but I definately prefer the sebenza myself. They're both fantasic knives in their own right but my vote would go for the sebenza first.

With all due respect to Toyz. No "cons" under the zaan? C'mon. The pivot looks like a nightmare without Chris supplying the kit for taking it down. That comes as no surprise though after you've been into CRKs for awhile - everything costs and then some. I like the new cut out that was referenced to Ankerson but haven't seen a side by side to compare.

Glass breaker - oopsie - on a CRK folder doesn't work for me. IMO the jagged pattern of the Umnazaan's spine is nothing more than an offering to look more "tactical" and sell more folders. The added belly is up toward the tip - exactly where it isn't needed, remember this knife is a precision cutting tool, not a sharpened prybar right?

I almost pulled the trigger on one but figure I'm saving for micarta inlays on a Sebenza if I get another one. Just my $.02 YMMV :)

The Umnumzaan has most of the features I look for in a knife, it's just a little too small for my tastes though.

In theory I like the my Large Micarta Sebenza 21 better, but I find my Umnumzaan gets a lot more pocket time than the 21!
