Greetings. Bit of a CRK newbie. Buusekin my primary game. Have a Zaan, Old Pivot, Wilson Combat inbound. After doing some research, I am under the impression that the WC Old Pivot, is rarer than the WC New Pivot. Are my assumptions correct? And - does the name Star Tac refer only to WC Umnums? Thanks in advance for your wise and thoughtful responses.

Star Tac is the name for WC Zaans, yes. Old pivot may not yet be rarer, but is out of production and has a lot of people who prefer it over the new. That's driving prices up, probably to stay. Just like anything else CRK stops making.

Thanks! I based that assumption by viewing sales threads on BF, and like most data, a skewed interpretation. Was enough info to bid, and get one - at a good price. CRK #6! The collection grows!

Will never have as many as in your wonderful collection. Drifted over here from Busse, as I ran out of those models/variations to collect. Did purchase my first CRK - Jereboam II way back in 1987(?), and actually used it for deep woods camping. Still have it, SA #108, with just a few scratches. Nearly sold it awhile ago, but glad I came to my senses.

Startacs are my favorite flavor of the umnumzaan. Be it old or new pivot. I did have a chance to get the old pivot awhile back but passed and got the new pivot. Mainly because I don't want to carry another tool for disassembling my CRKs...

I still plan to get an old pivot startac eventually for collection purposes... [emoji16]

I had to get both also. Initially preferred the look of the Zaan, in either iteration, with the newer pivot, but have switched to liking the older one's appearance better. But as stated, more efficient without special tooling.
