Hi all,

The original o-rings gave way when I took the folder out this morning,

Is there a specific brand/type material o-ring that is better than the originals? My folder is about 2 years old. Is this the norm, I mean to be replacing the o-rings?

Thanks in advance and have a great weekend.

CRK has replacement O-rings on their web site.
Yes, it's normal for them to become flat and need replacing.
There's a thread about after market O-ring replacements in different colors.

I should be more specific:

Viton -006 o-rings

These are not the same o-ring material as CRK, they are the same size. They are made of a fluoroelastomers that, in my experience, is much more durable than EPDM, nitrile (Buna-N), polyurethane, etc. CRK issues polyurethane o-rings with the knife and sells them as replacements.

  • Umnumzaan O-Rings size 60- O-rings by Danco (1/4” OD x 1/8” ID x 1/16” costs $2.49 for 10ct at Lowe’s

Thanks all for the advice, I found a local store that sells fittings, bearings, and automotive o-rings. I'll be heading there this weekend for a look see. Coloured o-rings would be something different and cool factor for this folder.

It's true, looks exactly like the ones from McMaster but only $2 more!

Sure, but for $2, people with an Amazon account may find it easier to order from Amazon rather than add yet another cyber vendor relationship to the mix.

Eh. I guess. But Amazon is a crapshoot sometimes especially when you're trying to find a specific part. I'd guess anyone looking for components or raw materials more than once will end up on McMaster.

Thank you for the response ...I would hve ordered the O-rings from CRK but the shipping was more than the product

Thank you!
