It's engraved in relief, so blasted and then touched upDude that looks amazing!! Did you mask off each square for the blast?!
I knew the engraving was but was just curious about the satin areas too, gives a nice contrastIt's engraved in relief, so blasted and then touched up![]()
Ahh, yeah...same deal. Blasted the slab, satin the squares, mask the squares and touch up the blasting.I knew the engraving was but was just curious about the satin areas too, gives a nice contrast
What are the plans for the blade?
Got this Umnumzaan in today from a buddy, the unfortunate victim of overzealous pimping back in the day...we're gonna make it presentable again

That's what I thought too, but apparently it was aggressive Oxiclean anoLooks like your buddy took a butane torch to the scales when he was drunk. Lol. The blasting turned it into an entirely different knife and the contrast and engraving took it that extra "chip" step to make it a cool AF one off.
Now......... Do the blade, do the blade, do the blade. (In my excited voice)![]()
That's what I thought too, but apparently it was aggressive Oxiclean ano. Gonna finish up the blade today, was kinda lazy yesterday
.
I mentioned anodizing, but he really likes the subtle contrast from just the two different finishes...I can always ano it later if he gets boredOh good God. I hope you took his customization merit badge away.
That thing is gonna be bad when it's all said and done. A decent ano job on the bead blasted portion would add some color and cool contrast to the shiny letters.not trying to add more work for ya I'm just saying. I've seen your ano and it looks good
Somebody call me?? Thanks!Chip yours sick puppy, but I love your work!![]()
Nice job saving this Umnumzaan.
It was posted over on the Facebook CRK Fanpage and it received a bunch of positive compliments and a few negative ones from the purists that have no imagination.
