Was at ralphs today and picked up some scotch brite. Was thinking about giving my umnumzaan the scotch brite treatment! I know nothing about scotch brite,is this what people generally use for the treatment or am I way off??

I just used some green sb we had under the kitchen sink. I Wouldn't use new sb, I think it's too abrasive. You want to dull the finish not scratch it.

This may sound a little strange but what you need is sb that's been used several times. Be sure to use water on the sb pad and use light pressure.

I'd start with the back scale, maybe even the clip. Do a small area, dry it and see if you like the looks of the sb area.

I used a black pad, followed by a white pad, both under running water. It came out great.

These are the pads that you use for metal finishing. The brown is course, the maroon is medium/fine and the gray is fine. You can use Scotch-Brite by 3M or Norton's Bear-TEX. The colors and texture are very close between manufacturers. You do not use any water with these.
