I just finished up an Umnumzaan take down tool in titanium. This is a hand ground prototype made as a proof of design/concept and is a bit rough so bear that in mind please.:o There are one or two things I would change or do differenly if I was to do it again but finding problems was the whole point of doing it of course. :p
I have to give our friend Bhyde a wee mention here as his take down tools were inspiration and made me get to designing something that was different from the tools he made. The project was good fun and a nice change from the stuff I usually do. :)

Sorry for the bum pics, I'm having problems with the macro setting on my camera.......

Very nice Haze!! That looks great..It looks like you found dowel pins the right size? This was an issue for me as the hole size for the pins was an odd size that I didn't have any luck finding. I ended cutting each pin to length from drill rod...Not an easy task when they are so small. (pins this small tend to fly when they are cut off using an abrasive wheel. Holding them is a different story!)

that looks awesome haze. you and bhyde do some great work. id take one of.these in a heartbeat :p

Pending on price I will take one BUT only if that Hex bit on the end will fit the hex scores on the Sebenza as well. If it isn't a hex bit then you should consider it. Would make a much more useful tool if it were.

Haze,

If you make me one for my Lochsa im sure I could add some funds to your paypal account,

Please email me if you are interested.

Thanks much for the kind words people.

This is just a prototype to see how well/if my design works. Thankfuly all those years at Uni were not wasted and it does work. :D

Yea, those little bits are not that much fun to deal with. Finding material for the pins that was the right size and drill bits for the holes in the tool was a bit of a mare actually. I had to compromise somewhat with what I had on hand but it worked out ok. (I'm still not sure I know what the sizes of everything I need are. :p)

The tool sticking out the end is indeed a hex rench and will fit both the Sebenza and the Umnumzaan. It works on both my Regular Sebenzas any way.
