I received this new score about 2 weeks ago, and sent it off to SOT the very next day to get it stonewashed.
I polished the hardware and the washers. Freakin smoooth as glass!
The Umnumzaan Tanto is one sweet knife.

I love the umnumzaan, especially the tanto version. " I gotta get me one of these "

Nice look.

What is it that you feel is the main benefit to stonewashing over the original blasted finish?
Cosmetic or performance?

Umnum is my next knife, now Im wondering Tanto or Spear?

I'm thinking Tanto... Well first anyways, the Spear will come a little later :D

Nice look, stonewashing will hide wear like crazy

OK, I'll try and clarify and answer all the questions in this post.
SOT is the username (USN) of David Rydbom of Kingdom Armory. He has a website which shows his work, pimp jobs and his own designs. Check him out.
The blade on the Umnumzaan is stonewashed, just like about all of his knife blades. The handles are bead blasted. All of you who has owned anything beadblasted, know that this finish is known to reveal scratches quite easily. Pretty much the main reason many folks do not like this finish. The stonewashed finish is already scratched, so new scratches generally do not affect the finish.
I had SOT stonewash the titanium handle to give it a similar finish as the blade. The texture is about the same. And I like the look of the stonewashed finish.

I checked out the website, cool stuff...... How much did it cost to have stone washed ?? Did you send the whole knife in, or just the slabs ??

Not sure how much the charge was for my Umnumzaan because I sent him a the parts for my M-15 as well. And yes, I have a friend's takedown tool for the up, so I was told by SOT that just sending the slabs would save me some dough.

Lots of mods going on with these knives! I like em well enough factory spec. Just got my first Umnumzaan and I already want the tanto!
