I already have a small Sebenza 21 with micarta inlays. I am looking to get a second CRK and wanted to go larger this time. What are your guys thoughts?

That's a tough one. The carbon fiber inlay knives are beautiful but I like the Zaans as well. My thought is to get a Zaan since you already have a CF inlay example. I have two Zaans currently, both old style pivots, one with no overtravel stop (2010) and one one with it (2012). I only like the Zaans with an older pivot. It looks awesome. I don't care one way or the other about the overtravel stop. The 2012 knife has more relief cut to access the lockbar and disengage it to close the knife. This makes a huge difference for me over closing the 2010. Basically, I would look for a Zaan with the old style pivot but a later example. That's the sweet spot for my tastes.

These are very nice:

I misspoke.. I meant to say I have a Small Sebenza 21 with Micarta, not CF.

Hmmm, that makes your decision more difficult. You will probably end up with both eventually so I would keep an eye on the Exchange for examples of each.

Yeah I found one on the exchange for a decent price which is why I am bringing up this question up. Haha it is actually the one you are selling.

Get a large 21 to go with the small. Worry about the Umnumzaan later on.
There's nothing quite like a pair of 21's in different sizes.
The Umnumzaan is different from the 21, adjustable pivot tension, swedge on top, O-rings which make it quiet when it locks up. Different method to open the blade verses a 21. The blade is a bit more robust, IMO, doesn't slice as good as a 21. But, the Umnumzaan is a hell of a good work knife!!!!!

Yeah, it looks like I'm leaning toward a large sebenza now... I currently have a BM 810-1404 I will be sad to part with though if I want to get another sebenza. I love the 810's blade shape but the sebenza overall will overall be more useful as a larger EDC folder.

In my opinion you need to mess with a large Sebenza Regular/Classic/21 to truly appreciate a CRK. However, of all my CRKs my favorite all-around user is my plain Sebenza 25. I would carry my micarta 25 but the plain is well-used so it gets carried a lot. The ceramic ball lock interface (as seen on the Umnumzaan too) is really great and gives an extremely satisfying lockup.

Sebenza 25s (replaced by the large Inkosi) are great!

IMHO, the best work folder would be a large 21 with micarta and double thumbstuds. I have both the umnumzaan and a large 21. My fav is the 21L but it does lack a bit more grip which I am sure a micarta version can provide. The double thumbstuds is because I do sometime needs to deploy the blade with me left hand.

I have not owned a umnunzaan but I have a couple 21's and a 25. I would say that 25 i a great in between from a umnunzaan and a 21. I personally would start with a 21 but I am loving my newly acquired 25. It is really up to you one what you think will fit your needs the most.

The umnumzaan is my favorite CRK. I prefer its, aesthetics, ergonomics and engineering to the sebenza 21. It will all come down to personal preference as they are both fine tools. Buy the one that calls to you more.

I am not really liking the aesthetics of the 25. I would much rather have an umnumzaan or a large sebenza. Which one do you guys think is a better slicer?

Are you interested in a clip point or insingo. I've heard the umnunzaan is a thick blade stock and not quite as good of a slicer. Both my clip point 21 and my insingo are great slicers.

I have a clip point small sebenza.. I'd like them to match. I kind of wish I got an insingo small sebenza instead but that time has already passed.
