A lot can be said about companies. Some good, some bad, some so-so. When it comes to the Buck Company, we here, all seem to have a pretty good opinion. That is as it should be. We like the products; in fact, the consensus is that the stuff stands head and shoulders above any competition. Good company, good product. But, let me tell you something boys and girls, there is much more to the story. The genius in their management style shows in its ability to hire the right people. I recently dealt with them. I’d sent some knives in to be sharpened up. They were in pretty sad shape. Not only dull in edge, but dull in appearance as well. They had a bunch of scrapes and scratches, bearing witness to the fact that these knives were tools. That they had been working for the past 20 to 40 years, not sitting in a safe, was obvious at first glance. Joe took the time and trouble to correspond with me concerning model variations, and I’m very grateful for that. Dealing with an employee that actually knows the product line is like a breath of fresh air in today’s environment. But the real miracle was the work done by whoever got handed the package to actually do the job. This unknown person(s) had to approach the assignment as if I was kin folk. To say it was beautiful work is a gross understatement. The end result exceeds all possible expectations. I have no hesitation to go on a worldwide media and say thank you to the rank and file employees of Buck for performing as true craftsman. Thank you one and all for your efforts. You are appreciated.

I first met Joe in Alanta 2007 at the Blade show...I was so impressed with all the folks in the BCCI and with Buck I joined the BCCI that weekend. They REALLY ARE nice down-home folks..They really care about us collectors too..I'm life member 1209 now.

It's amazing to me how many companies fail to see the value of this business model. The stories in this forum alone could fill a book full of compliments for the way people have been treated by Buck and it's employees. It's obvious their concern for the customer is truly reflected in their employees, no one could "fake" it for this long. Makes me proud to be a member of the BCCI and a Buck customer.

I don't know what (if anything) Buck currently is charging to sharpen knives, but it's worth every penny. Over the years I've sent in a few to have the edge redone. Each time the knife came back not only with a perfect edge, but also polished up and really benefiting from some TLC.

I live in Nova Scotia ,where Ghromann knives are made, yet I find myself infactuated with Buck knives,I would say it all had to do with the early 1990'sand what they did for me will never be forgotten.Buck is a class "A"company in a world full of companies looking for high dollar profit and low dollar production,we have a gold star company like Buck to show the world how its supposed to be done.
