Unable to leave feedback (invalid thread error)

Perhaps it's because the buyer never posted in the sales thread and the new software needs that to occur before feedback can be left? Otherwise it doesn't make any sense.

You are correct. I did not realize that the buyer needs to have posted in the thread.

Is that a permanent feature of the new software? Might make for a cluttered sale thread seeing as it's for ongoing custom orders...

It's required so people aren't leaving feedback for things that never happened. Just have them post that they bought or received it.

So, I guess the days of buying something in the exchange are over. A buyer must post an "I'll Take It" or other type of post in the thread before feedback can be left. Sorry if this was covered in any of the other notes/faqs about the new software. Still shaking things out here. The older you get, the longer it takes!

As calloused as it sounds, feedback is not always necessary and thus if you have some vague reason for not wanting to post in a sales thread you can always just do it as normal without posting and then just not leave feedback. It's up to the seller to ask you to post in the thread or not if they want feedback or not.

I see no reason why one wouldn't post in a sales thread, and if it cuts down on crappy feedback being left without transactions being done I see no downside.

Not sure what you mean here. You can still buy things in the exchange without issues. Leaving feedback requires a thread from a valid forum, where both the seller & buyer have posted.

A buyer must post an "I'll Take It" or other type of post in the thread before feedback can be left.
Correct.

Thanks Spark ... a few words got left out of my first sentence (like buying in the exchange without actually posting!) Mind was working and not transferring to my typing fingers. If a buyer plans to leave feedback on a purchase, a post in the thread must be made (not just a PM/conversation indicating the intent to purchase). I got it.

It would seem that leaving feedback more than once (for different buyers) referencing the same sale thread is not permitted either...
Any way around this? Pretty common to have more than one thing for sale in a thread.

I'll see what I can do

Also, when something goes wrong while leaving a feedback (error for whatever reason like missing required info) I lost everything and had to rewrite the whole shabang. Instead of just pointing what was missing while providing the ability to fix and resubmit.
