Just unboxed BK 11, laced a mini firesteel around sheath and hung it from my neck. Gonna wait on stripping this one for a while perhaps. Not sure the wisdom of EDC paracord around my neck, maybe I can figure out some kinda break away system.

Typing a bit slower and have a sore arm from tetnus booster shot, got my BK2 SHARP. Spent about 8 hours convexing it into a kill bill blade, got some micarta handles which I dyed with RIT 'sunshine orange', turned out to be nice earthy orange color. Was carving fireboard for bowdrill practice and alas, she eats flesh as easily as cedar. On top of finger, so nothing serious and got away without even having to have stitches.

Would take pics of both, but camera crapped out. Got agitated with the hopelessness of trying to fix it so I hung it from a tree and shot it. Mania perhaps? I'll try to borrow a good camera soon and post up BK2, she's growin up to be so purrdy.
 
Definitely do try to get pictures. I'm interested in seeing the orange scales.
 
get some ceiling fan ball chian at the local wally world cut too lenghth has around a 20 pound break wieght. you dont want someone comin' up behind ya and grabbing the paracord that will get you're eyes buggin' for sure lol!!
 
I ordered a pack of 5 or so beaded neck chains from that river place for less than $2.

I read up on this and seriously considered it, but I'm a bit apprehensive about losing my blade. I think with my current program of adding more and more gear to my EDC regime in a relatively concealed manner (72 hour pack all on the bat utility belt essentially), the thought of losing a blade that I'm staking my life on is unsettling and I suspect exponentially more likely than having someone piano wire hitman me with paracord. They're run a good chance of getting 40 gold dot through the gnads if they didn't pull real hard and fast. Now will I trip and fall and hang myself on a tree? perhaps, but I reckon its minimized while inside the shirt. Other than being out and about in civilization I'm starting to just loop cord over belt and carry in back pocket, which eliminates both chances of loss and choking. As of now I'm setting on going on the wildside and living without the safety feature.
