Hey all, so the postman just dropped off a package and guess what?
...Opening it with my designated box opener, the customized remora. I'm quite impressed with it, was suspiscious of the epoxy strength so went outside and bashed it up with a log...All that happened wsa me denting the micarta slightly. The 440A is nice too, I dropped it on the tiles and even though some of the edge got broken off I managed to repair it with about a minute or so.

First impressions…
Blade feels good in the hand, classic Becker grip…Feels light but also stury enough to do a little heavier stuff with it. When I first learnt about batoning I took a little 1mm thick paring knife and drove it into some wood, completely warped the edge… Kinda went all wavy…Don’t think I’ll have that problem here. Sharpest out of the box Becker I’ve got so far, slices magazine paper ok, better than the others bit I could still get it sharper (I hope
). Think my dad'd like it since hes not really a fan of heavier blades though I'm a little suspisious of lending it to him since he broke the tip off the last Becker I gave him (was my 16)...
Not gonna customize this one, Its nice as is and I’ve realised now that I should be customizing blades that I feel need customizing, not just cos I want it to look “kinda cool”… I felt the 13 and 14 that I did needed some mods but the 2 2s? Nope, didn’t like them stock and don’t like them now (Damn, I wanna get rid of them…
. Anyway…
I actually got a pretty sweet deal for a BK-5, remora and a set of Ka-Bar carta...$117 all up (Let me just say that postage was $17, so chill out to the people who won’t ship internationally because of the cost...Not directing this at anyone here, just something that stands out for me thats all, like if you were a lefty and you look out for ambidextrous sheaths or such…Hell, I don’t know). That’s basically getting the 5, 13 and micarta with free shipping if I bought it elsewhere.

Ka-Bar carta is SWEET! Nicer than the grivory and tweener zytel both in looks and feel. Might smooth out the bumps a bit but it’s got a nice texture to it, similar to the micarta I’ve done so it’s kinda reassuring that I’m doing it right. Nice color (lol colour) to it too.

The 2 remoras…Not sure what I’ll do to the stock one, need to make a sheath for it if I decide to not keep it in the sheath. Got a cool idea for the 5’s sheath, did it to my 7 too and its pretty sweet so far.
Anyway, sorry for it being short and not all that exiting but thought I’d show it off, have a good day/night guys/girls…Thanks for stopping by
