Uncle Al the knifemakers pal, is having an operation even as I type this note. He had an appendicitus attack and did not do so well so they are removing it. Just thought I would let you know. If you want to email him a get back to work you slug letter you can email him at uncleal@ipa.net

Thanks for the info Jerry. I hadn't heard about it yet. I do hope that Al will recover quickly. Email sent.
 
I just called for Al to ask about those 2 power hammers he has being rebuilt. The person that answered the phone said that Al was out of surgery and in recovery doing very well. This was bout 1pm CST.

Uncle Al is one of, if not the best person to deal with in the knife world.

I wish him a speedy recovery.

Thanks for the note. I called two days ago to order a Stampmaster and they gave me the news. I left an email and hope he is feeling better soon.

I just heard from Al. He is back home and say's he's recoverying and doing well, though slowly. Al mentioned that he had been wanting to take some time off, but this wasn't really what he had in mind. :D
 
I'm glad Al is back home and doing well but for those of us who are not knifemakers who is "Uncle Al"and why is he called the knifemakers pal?
 
Thanks for the heads-up fellas. I got to talk with Al quite a bit down in Atlanta and he was a lot of fun, but full of information too.

I'm glad he's doing well! :)
