Back in the '60's a friend had injured his back severely. Christmas was fast approaching & his wife's meager salary could barely buy food.

Had a talk with my kids, Carke & Rosemary about their friends plight. They agreed to keep one toy & donate the rest to our friend with several kids. We felt great for out good deed & I believe we took groceries also.

Fast forward about a dozen years........

I was back in my hometown doing some work on a deceased relative's estate when my truck steering went wobbly. Fortunately I was in front of an Exxon station & managed to drive up into a bay.

I'm thinking alignment problems right off or worse, maybe the pitman arm....

I stood outside to smoke up one & I heard an "aha ! " from the bay . Somehow the control arm clamp had worked loose & the mechanic said he could secure it in the original position, did it & took a test ride. Came back grinning,no road wander with hands off steering !

As I reached for my wallet the manager brushed my hand aside & said "Mr. Baum , you & your family made Christmas for us many years ago . This is our thanks " !

That's a great story.

We do the right thing because it's the right thing. Our reward is that we've helped someone. But sometimes the Karma catches up with us.

(Usually my Karma runs over my Dogma, but that's a different story! :D )

It always does catch up, no matter how fast you run.
