Hello all. I just saw a local ad for a used Uncle Al's 24 ton press for sale.
Any opinions on this machine?
Thanks

I saw one used years ago at a hammer in at Washington Arkansas. My impression was it worked very well. I have been impressed with the quality of Uncle Al's products.
If the price is right and it's in good working order, I would get it.

I have one and have been happy with the performance. Dies are also very simple and easy to make and you can change them quickly.

Question #2 -
Are the hydraulic pump hoses/fittings always under pressure or only when the pump is running?

Caveat - I'm no pro...

My understanding is that the pressure is pretty darn low when the machine is not operating and the pump is running. Basically just bypassing (circulating). The pressure on my gauge increases when I'm actually pressing something.

well, my good buddy (my transportation) bought it because I don't yet have shop space nailed down. I'm going to have to start charging a finder's fee
