Well, I made it back today but I'm weaker than a mouse so won't be able to do
much for a little while.

I went to the hospital thinking I had a gut problem. Wrong. It was a heart attack.
One artery was 100% blocked so had to have bypass surgery.

Interestingly, if this had happened in Nepal or on the plane I wouldn't be here
today.

I did well in surgery and they prognosis is I'll be around for awhile but it will take
some time to get back to speed.

52 years of heavy smoking did the trick. I've been clean about 10 days so guess
I'll try to stay off the tobacco for awhile. I've got other things I need to get done
besides smoking.

Thanks to all and sincere thanks for your prayers and well wishes. They did the
trick!

Welcome back, Uncle Bill!

Nice to hear the good prognosis, and will expect you to take things easy as from past professional experience, these things can take some time to get over with.

Uncle Bill, you don't have any idea how much we've all missed you this week, or how glad we are that you're home and doing OK. Take it easy, we're happy just to hear from you.

P.S.-ten years since my last smoke after 30 years of 3 1/2 packs a day. It _can_ be done!

Welcome back, Oji-chan. No more smokes, eh? Keep off the chili fries, too.

(But maybe a good reason for more red wine, yes?)

Blessings for your full recovery --

Glen

It's good to hear from you again, Uncle Bill...the world's definitely a better and more interesting place with you in it. I'm glad to hear about the good prognosis. Take your time recovering; we'll still be here when you feel up to dealing this motley crew...

Uncle Bill!

Great news! Glad you're back safe at home.

I'm sure it was pretty rough, and there's probably a little more rough road ahead, but the end is in sight.

Actually, a new beginning!

Get lots of rest. After you feel fine, rest some more. What you went through will really take the stuffing out a man.

Fairly soon you will feel fine and ready to go before you really are. Believe this. Take things slower than you would for longer than the people around you (including us!) think you should.

After a while (but it will take some time), you'll feel better than you have in years!

I have a feeling there's a lot of good things and great times ahead. For all of us.

Chris

Uncle Bill, missed you very much. Please take care of yourself.

You are a highly valued treasure. We have learned so much from you.

Although I very seldom post I come to this forum often and experience a feeling of kinship and learning that is found in no other website.

You're the spark and the main fuel source that keeps this forum going. We selfishly want you around for many years to come.

Whishing you a quick and complete recovery.

Charlie

Uncle,
Looks like we wanted you more than the Grim Reaper did.
Glad we won, now please take it easy.
