I was admiring my Phoxi Pholli earlier tonight. You know, hefting it, swinging it around, marveling at the way it fit my hand, and so forth. It made me sad because this is the only HI that I did not order from Uncle Bill himself. At the same time it also brought a smile to my face. Uncle Bill always wished that HI continue after he was gone. This khukuri honors his wishes and shows that HI is here to stay.

They are awesome...and a good sign of continued success.

"the Good that men do oft lives after them." The mark of a great effort is that it is self sustaining after the Founder passes on.

Well said :) I had the same thought the other day while feeling sad about Uncle Bill and Rusty...It's really amazing what he started.

I hope it continues for many many years to come.

I believe it will.

As for Bill looking down and smiling, or Rusty peeking over his shoulder-(as I've read somewhere..) from what I gathered from Yangdu and others, after the Soul is ready, it is sent out once more. Unless of course Bill completed the Wheel. I don't think so though. I thought it might be a couple thousand reincarnations but Bill said something once about tens if not hundreds of thousands. (that's more my rate of learning)

Anyway, Bill may be a baby right now. Think about that. ( or one ready to be born in 7 months...)
Hopefully, Rusty is where he wants to be- probably with the Heavenly Father.

I'm selfish. I just want someone to shake my hand upon arrival. Rusty said he'd do that.

This forum and HI business is a positive affirmation of life- which anyone would be proud to have helped build and leave behind. I think Bill was blessed in many ways.

Maybe we could hunt him out like they do the Dali Lama? Break out some Heniken and a Khukuri and see if the kid reacts ;)

In the really fantastic book "Autobiography of a Yogi" Yogananda talks about one of his young disciples who dies prematurely and he actually finds the kid reincarnated. If you ever have a chance to read it it is well worth it.

Also in his book he kind puts an interesting spin on Karma. Where here and other places there is an emphasis on karma being either a reward for your meritorius actions or punishment for your bad ones, similar to the concept of sin, Yogananda more casts it as that you have these desires that bind you to the wheel of Karma and until you work thru these desires you come back. Even the people who do good and expect to go to heaven, go there, and reap the reward for their actions but eventually either move up or down again till they are no longer bound to the concept of cause and effect.

Here's some of it:

""When a soul finally gets out of the three jars of bodily delusions," Master continued, "it becomes one with the Infinite without any loss of individuality. Christ had won this final freedom even before he was born as Jesus. In three stages of his past, symbolized in his earth-life as the three days of his experience of death and resurrection, he had attained the power to fully arise in Spirit.

"The undeveloped man must undergo countless earthly and astral and causal incarnations in order to emerge from his three bodies. A master who achieves this final freedom may elect to return to earth as a prophet to bring other human beings back to God, or like myself he may choose to reside in the astral cosmos. There a savior assumes some of the burden of the inhabitants' karma11 and thus helps them to terminate their cycle of reincarnation in the astral cosmos and go on permanently to the causal spheres. Or a freed soul may enter the causal world to aid its beings to shorten their span in the causal body and thus attain the Absolute Freedom."

The whole book is online here:
