I think we need an updated list of Kamis and their symbols posted as a Sticky because of some of the changes and it would be a great help for the new people.

Here is a start, the ones I know for sure, not sure about Bura's Initals or what Shankers mark would be called.




Bura-----crescent moon---------L.B.

Kesar----flag of Nepal

Kumar----six pointed star------K.B.

Sher-----half sun--------------S.B.

Sanu-----cross

Shanker----------------------- K.S.


Edited to correct Shanker. Went and Looked at my BAS again to make sure.

Just a small point; the BAS that I just received by Shanker has a trident with the initials K.S. I think it's Shanker with a transposition of the initials?

My WWII has the Pennant is that Durba or is that Kesar"s old symbol?

On the Durbas that I've seen the pendant is small, maybe 1/4" or so high. The Kesars are bigger. Dunno if it's true but it seems to be the case. Uncle Bill would know fer' sure. :yawn:

Durba hasn't been around for awhile, almost a year I think.

just after I bought my three Khukes,Last year around this time,He had to leave to take care of his farm or a sickness or something.Nice work I thought. Bura with the crescent moon,forged my 18"AK AND the 15"BAS. LOVE all three but the AK is the go blade for now.Hopefully I'll be getting the 20" ak,41oz.with wood handle(specially made by whom can't remember) from a guy in TN.THANK-YOU FERGUSON for the heads up.
