If you don't know the history of this blade please read the Uncle Bill vs the Sirupati, chapter one.
Here is the Uncle Bill vs the Sirupati resurrected. This shows you what a guy who knows something about metal and how to work it can do.
DanK put a new tip on the khukuri made out of tool steel unless my memory has failed me again. And, he straightened the blade to dead true and glued the handle.
If it is possible I'd like to see this knife end up in the hands of another person familiar with knifemaking and/or repair because I think they would appreciate this knife more but it is up for grabs by anybody who wants it.
Last note: This khukuri was tested by DanK for integrity by chopping holes in a 50 gallon steel drum making sure the tip was heavily involved in the chopping -- repeatedly! It is back to stay and better than new!
We will deliver this better than new Sirupati to your door for $75.
PS, that's grease on the tip -- not a flaw of any kind. It really is better than new.
Call or email if interested.
