Let me tell you this story - and it even has a happy end
smile.gif

The first time I tried to do business with Himalayan Imports was in 1993(acutally, I have in my files a letter from Bill dated 03/93 still witha a LA adress), right after I got started in the knife business. Lots of things kept from purchasing a khukuri from HI, though I never lost sight of it - and purchased through trades lots of other khukuries in between, but all much below my expectations
Now I was trying to write an article about modern khkukuries for www.cutelariahoje.com.br and the obvious pleace to research was the HI site - a site I have not looked at for a long while - and then I found out that HI was now able to take credit card orders - absolutelly necessary for us in Brazil - and couldn't resist any more.
I am now counting the days to get my 12"sirupati - I had purchased a khukuri of a similar size before and found it very comfortable - and my kagas katne. My only real worry is: how many will come after these first ones?

And the world of HIKV, Research, and some of the greatest people ever to grace the intrnet.
You are exactly right!!!! This will only be the 1st H.I.Khukuri among many and will hold a special place in your heart forever.
One of the really nice things about the small khukuris is that they're easily concealable if one should choose to wear one that way.

And thanks for telling us your story. That's a long time of loyalty
without ever having a H.I.Khukuri in your possesion. I like that in a person.

Welcome Ivan:

I'm sitting here with a 12" sirupati and a 3rd generation SAA civilian (4 3/4") Colt 45 laying just above my mousepad. I just wiped down the Sirupati with clove oil.

And I'm making progress on turning the Colt into a slipgun ( that's where you take out bout all the parts including the trigger, bob the hammer, and lower the hammer spur so it goes off when your thumb joint "slips" off the hammer and falls on the primer ). Old timey gunfighter style, that is. Back then a slipgunner was about as popular as a rattlesnake with his rattles cut off. For about the same reason. Muy loco.

Anyway, welcome, and set a spell. I gotta tell you the 12" AK is just lovely and as friendly as a golden retriever puppy. Still got some clout behind it when you want to lay it into something. The Sirupatis, well, I've had 3 12"ers, and two of them were just fine. The third one has an attitude: it reminds me of a doberman pinscher with hemorhoids and a toothache. I swear that if I were wearing it and was scared, I'd be standing there wondering how come the bad guy was laying there without his head. That's the one that stays close to me.

Good Luck, and I hope the 12" Sirupati that chose you knew what it was doing. I'll bet it did.

I bid you Peace, even if you have to get it via the Pax Romana (or however it's supposed to be said).

What is this? Sirupati Serendipity night??? I've just finished taking the Flitz off my new 12"Sirupati, and thought I'd log on to check the forum. Ivan, the blade will come, and when it does be prepared to chase everyone away for a time - Research on this blade begins as soon as the wrappings come off, and cannot be interrupted

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys.
I never thought so many people liked the smaller khkukuris like I do - it is great to hear that.
Regarding the shipping instructions, Bill, I would surely have taken your post seriously if HI were located in New York, not in Reno!
