Thank you rokjok for showing me this desirable keychain addition. It was a pleasure to meet you at the Expo (Portland, OR) yesterday. Should have gotten more of those $4 Innova leds, 3 doesn't do it.

I now must have immediately a Uncle Bill's Sliver Tweezer for my chain and want to buy at a brick and mortar store in the Portland area. Who carries the ones with the keychain holder? Have you seen these walking the isle at Kmart, Target, Walmart, GI Joes, Freddies or.... (online this $5 item becomes $12 with shipping)

I bought mine about 7 years ago at the Patagonia is SF, but I didn't notice them there last time I was in. I know that Campmor in NJ sell them, I picked up a couple last year. I did notice however that they were not as sharp and precise as my first pair, but fixed 'em up no problem with a fine and fine cermic stone. REI might sell them, check them out if there is one in your area.

Cardimon, I found your link to Nature's Tapestry and ordered one from them for $7.95 delivered. Your links are the best. I want your "favorite places" list. Thank you kindly for your help.

Binford, I just ordered a few items the other day from Survivalkeychain, before I knew about Sliver Gripper. The compass I chose for my keychain is the Marble's brass pocket model. I thought about and like the Swiss Micro Compass but put it on the back burner for now http://www.thecompassstore.com/necklace.html. Survival keychain's micro compass for the spycapsule is the bomb. Next on my list. Why have only one. Thanks for the tip.

Will, I was at REI (8 miles from me) this AM and they carry the one in the small clear vial and not the keychain model, unfortunately. I contacted the manufacturer (El Mar Inc) and they quoted me $47.43 total for 10 units delivered via USPS. I may take this offer and use them as gifts if I am happy with the one I've ordered from NT. Heck, half the people I know have business or recreation in the woods, heat with wood or sell firewood and splinters are unavoidable. I appreciate your help.

All the best,

oregon :D

You're quite welcome. :) I'd give you my "favorite places" list, but I don't have one. Not bookmarked, anyway. The Web is a giant General Store, with lots of mislabeling and miscategorization throw in to keep us on our toes. Knowing how to find what you want is the most difficult part.

Got the Sliver Gripper from Natures today in the mail. It is brilliant. The tweesers stay in the keychain holder very securely. I can't imagine them coming loose by themselves. Terrific addition to my keychain. Strong, light and simple. I'm ready now by cracky. :)

Best,

Now if only airport security would allow them to pass.
